“Nine: Twenty-Three”

(Time of Murder)

a moment of silence

resonating for generations

before and beyond

morality deliberates,

as a sown-seed bleeds

his father’s beneficiary

of burdened birth battles

long before the walmart in beavercreek, ohio

the immortality of privilege

dances with humanity,

ashes released,

moral fabric weakens with ease

affliction and dishonesty

retribution

is

healin’.

Rest in Peace, John Crawford, III.
