    “Revelation”

To my sons

I had a revelation;

it could not take the pain away.

The only thing that keeps me going

is the pure desperation of our fate,

to see generations of families

tangled in the spider web of life,

spinning their seeds’ demise;

it’s not classified information—

shameless hypocrites made the frame to the bed

we lay in

as observers stand by

as comrades stand by

as kin stand by

I had a revelation;

I almost let go.
